im 19. ive done various different jobs such as waitressing and working in a newsagents.
Im currently stuck doing care work, driving to people's houses and providing them care. It's not that i hate the job itself just the managers and all the driving i have to do is tiring.
My managers aren't helpful at all, im on rubbish money and i cant even afford to move out with my boyfriend.
Ive applied for lots of jobs, had a few interviews and not heard anything from most of them.
I dont know what i want to do but i know i need something, im just totally stuck and its a nightmare to live through every day.

I feel so sorry for young people now. Back when I was your age we had tons of jobs available, not just for college grads, but for regular people too. And I mean good paying jobs. I knew people who'd dropped out of high school who had better paying jobs than we office workers. They used to laugh at us. Now we're in a recession that I call the great equalizer--doesn't make any difference how educated you are, you've still got to thank God if you're working.
Take heart. We baby-boomers will have to retire sooner or later. Then jobs are going to go begging. They'll be a need for tons of people.
yay!!! someone who makes sense! i agree it is str8 denial i always ask those if they are employed never wanting to answer the question i wonder why! i really dont see any support out there between job seekers i see the attitudes of being high on the hog, living in a fantasy, living in a castle, etc.
unemployed job seekers calling each other lazy and good for nothing im like wow wheres the help and support?!? lol gee, i definitely didnt get any on linkedin.com i got cursed out by professionals who claim to be "professional." its gotten to the point where i dont even bother to ask for any job advice without getting my head chewed off!
But not having a job and trying to find one is harder than people think.
too many ppl ive chatted with are too gullible and naive about this job market and economy. they told me i have a bad attitude i dont have a bad attitude i can do the research and find what i am trying to rebut an argument that i heard or read somewhere i question a lot of things and listen to one thing and roll with it!
what r u suppose to do with a lack of work exp? i made it clear to professionals im not volunteering there isnt a person on this planet who is willing to work for me. free work is not going to get me out of debt...
ive had managers contacted me wanting to do a job that i know i can't do. i had one call long ago where a manager wanted me to do consulidating student loans which you need experience and money handling experience. i refused the offer yet the manager felt i was perfect for it. i was 18 out of hs, started college, and had no job experience so how was i perfect? i found the company's ad online (they found me) and found out the guy was lying that the ad said they wanted experience they were not willing to train you.
then one time, i had a job offer to be a manager they were willing to train you. i have no interest in being an asshole manager (no i didn't say it like that to them on the phone), i said to this manager i do not want to be dealing with egos everyday nor telling employees what they should be willing on the job and it feels like i am babysitting them. i have the dominant, authoritative personality, but that doesn't mean i wanna be a manager. i also have a temper and can tell you off in a minute it doesn't hurt my conscious because i am very upfront and opinionated but you can't talk to a customer like that.
