Yea me! My Onco test on the second tumor scored a little lower than the first tumor so I dont need chemo!!! After all I've been thru, I broke down and cried tears of joy! Now I just need this wound to completely heal and I can get my tush back to work. I have to follow up w/ the Oncologist in three months and when I'm completely healed, get my final surgery (remove extra skin left over from the failed reconstruction). I decided to NOT do any more reconstruction and go COMANDO!!! LOL
I realize this cancer crap is a hugh committment and I will always have to keep one eye open at all times... but I'm worth it!!!!

I was diagnosed w/ Stage 1 and had a bilateral mastectomy, two tumors (1.6 cm & 1.2 cm), no lymph node involvement, it was within the margins and the nipple, areola & skin were benign. I started Tamoxifen a few weeks ago, no real side effects yet. I didnt have to go for a second opinion, I'm being treated at the #2 cancer hospital in the U.S. (Memorial Sloan- Kettering).

I dont know how I got away with it but I did. I know it wouldve been hard on me b/c my body is so friggin sensitive (I cant even take a pain killer w/o getting sick!) I saw my plastic surgeon today and he said I can go back to work on Monday, I' have a f/u visit in one month to discuss my next & last surgery (removal of extra skin). I'm getting use to looking at my chest now but still squeamish about it. I can go for a C cup or a D cup depending on my mood now lol I was a 42 D in a Bali minimizer bra but the doc said I was more like a DD... what does he know lol
Im so sorry that you have to do chemo, I see how hard it is on everyone and my prayers go out to you and all the other courageous women out there! xo

Chemo will kill any malignant cell floating around,but also affect good cells,it stops fast dividing cells.

I worked with a woman for years who'd have a mastectomy without going through reconstruction (and doesn't wear a prosthetic either), and never noticed until she told us about it! I don't think people typically look that closely, really...
