My ex was so mean during the divorce. I was married for 17 years and I couldn't believe the things he said and did when we split. Yet here he is gone and I too miss him. Trying to keep remembering the reasons I divorced him to make the pain less. Yet mostly I remember the good things and makes it hard. Especially at night and weekends when the house is empty. Staying busy helps but sometimes the tears flow anyway. I too am waiting for better days. Hang in there. We all are.

I was not very happy in the realtionship. Communication was non existant on his part and he was mean to me.

The "missing them" feeling becomes less often, but it takes time. Different amount of time for everyone. It will come back, especially if you have kids or something, events that will remind you of what could have been. Just because they are gone doesn't mean you can't be happy, though.

There will always be memories. My first wife and I divorced after 10 years. I remarried and she remarried but, there were always memories that I cherished. She passed away a year ago in Jan. I attended her visitation and her funeral. I visited her in the hospital and had prayer with her as well.

Time will help heal but, I am not sure hurts like this completely heal. Mankind can forgive but only God can forget.

It's crazy to read all of these posts and realize that you're not alone. I don't believe time heals all wounds. It hasn't for me. How can I let myself still have feelings for someone I truely don't even want to be with? Moving forward is way tougher than I ever thought it would be.

Just ended a relationship myself and dread the thought that I will feel bad for a while. I know it's a process, and it's different for everyone. But spending time with friends, family, exercising, hobbies, and resting helps with time. One day it will feel ok.

I recently made a list of goals and the steps it takes to get there. It has reenergized me and I feel better. I am not thinking of him nearly as much so that is good. I will get my life started back up again. I actually already have.

Sometimes this site is just what I need. I know everyone says time heals, but damn, enough is enough. Im tired of feeling the missing and heartache over someone who doesn't love me anymore.

I have tried everything to help me get better. Hasn't happened yet and its been 5 mo since nc. I wish I could just wake up tomorrow and the constant memories would go away.

My relationship was only 3 years, but I think he was the one true love of my life. Not sure I'll ever get completely over him.

Unfortunately time will tell. lol
