Just block her. Seriously, pretend it's not even there, and then you won't have to worry about it.

Hello Rebuild. Sorry you are going through this. I had similar issue with my STBX on Facebook and mostly in public. You can block or ignore those posts, or better yet don't go on Facebook for a while. Tell your friends you would rather not hear about your Ex, most of them will listen. There will always be people who like to stir the pot and tell you things they think they saw or heard or in some cases, just made up to see what your response is. Weed these toxic "friends" out of your life. Sorry, but you are going to see some changes in your life - you may as well take control of them and make as many as you can for the better. You will rebuild!

Yeah, that's just self-torture right there, man. I've done it myself...looked and also been hurt by mutual "friends" who "liked" pics of them. They quickly became not mutual friends.

I say step back...don't go there...deactivate if needed and absolutely tell your friends that you don't want to hear about them and their current life. I'm really sorry. I know how much that hurts and how hard it is.

And defriend/block as needed as well. I had this huge need to know, but I always, always got hurt by looking. A heart can only take so much until it gets stronger.

I did this for a few weeks, would get angry at the things she would like. I even deleted FB for a little while. After that it was Instagram. Right now... I don' t want to see anything Social Media related to her for my own heart's sake. Clean from spying for 2 weeks, you can do it to! Be strong.

There's a wonderful person on D.S. called Looney and she refers to Facebook as Fakebook. She is so right. What you are doing is self torture by looking at this stuff. You have to put a stop to it.

And you have to tell others that you and she are separated and it's between you and her and you don't want to hear anything about her and you don't want them carrying stories of you to her. (And remember some of these people delight in being the middle man AND BEING THE GOSSIP who carries stories BOTH WAYS and gets to hear and see the reactions, so don't talk about her to them).

It's time for you to set boundaries for you as to what you will accept from people around you. If you don't, you will get torn down. Set and hold your boundaries and STOP PEOPLE IMMEDIATELY when they start it. You have to show these people you are strong and they don't run you down with stories of her.

I wasn't emotionally ready to de friend my husband so I hit the "unfollow" button so I no longer see his posts unless I specifically go to his page. I did the same with his relatives. The pain of reading about his alleged happiness was way too painful. My closest friends defriended him without prompting which also helped.

Hi, I am with you my brother. I know how you feel as my wife of 20 years posted her flings on Facebook. I never did check her on Facebook, and the reason I found out about my wife cheating on me is because friends on mine told me about the pictures and comments. My ex wife is 44 yrs old, but she went back to acting 19 yrs old. I have been consistent with not looking at her facebook account as it would only hurt me and make me angry. Like you, I also get angry with the very few supposed friends who liked her pictures and comments and also those who enabled her and participated in encouraging her new lifestyle. I still have it in me to contact these friends and tell them how I feel- hurt, disappointed, angry, betrayed. If you can, try not to look into her FB as it will only hurt you and make you upset. My betrayals came during my marriage of 26 years. My STBX kept going on trips alone, but then pics of him would appear on a woman's FB. He told me they were from many years ago, when they ran into eachother. I also found out by family members seeing pics of them together on the internet. It was so painful. I took it personal at first but then realized that I am a diamond and he is spending time with cubic zerconia (fakes). He denied throughout our entire marriage that he ever cheated but I had dozens of people tell me about his behavior, yet he would never leave me. It hurts deeply to feel betrayed and I wouldn't wish it on anyone, but believe me when I say, it does get better. Be strong, you can get through this. Her behavior is very juvinille and selfish and you need to focus less on her and more on making yourself happy and getting through this. What helped me was forcing myself to spend 15 mins a day writing down all the ways he hurt me and getting the anger out of my system. Then, for the rest of the day, not allowing myslef to think of him at all. I did this for a few weeks, faithfully, and then I was over it. I am happy alone and ready to meet a wonderful man who deserves a diamond. He most certainly did not. And she doesn't deserve you. She will get what's coming to her. As for you, the best revenge is living a happy life. You'll be stronger and a better person because of this. Give yourself time to heal. Do things that you love to do and don't let her terrible, selfish behavior invade your newfound freedom! You can do it!

I don't know what to say. For me, the first thing I did was "unfriend" him and all his family and "mutual" friends from facebook. The main reason: I wanted to be able to whine and it not get back to him. Secondary reason, no, I don't want to hear how great and happy he is about going out everyone practicing or whatever. We are still stuck in the same house until I fly out on the 25th, so I know when he's here and when he's not, but I certainly don't want to know what is going on when he's not. It would hurt. And I don't need that. I need to move on.

I agree with many of the others that you need to block her or deactivate Fakebook all together. When friends and family try to tell you about things she is doing you just need to tell them you don't care, that you are moving on. Trust me...I know this is hard...I have been exactly where you are!

You are going to have to face the fact that you are going to be canceling more people than just your ex out of your appointment book. Anyone who keeps sticking her and what she's doing in your face while you're healing has to go. If you try to keep 1 foot in each world as those worlds drift apart, you'll rip more than your pants. Tell people once and once only and keep the ones around who get with the new program. It's all about mind over matter bro....you don't mind, because she no longer matters.
