Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
Some say love, it is a river, that bends the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor, that leaves the soul to bleed.
Some say love, it is a hunger, an endless aching need..
I say love, it is a flower, and you, it's only seed.
It's the heart afraid of breaking, that never learns to dance.
It's the dreams afraid of waking, that never takes the chance.
It's the one who won't be taken, who cannot learn to give.
And the soul afraid of dying, that never learns to live.
When the night has been too lonely,
And the road has been too long.
When you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong.
Just remember, in the winter,
Far beneath the bitter snow,
Lies the seed, that with the sun's love,
In the spring, becomes the rose......
Big hugs and best wishes as you and time put your heart back together again.....
I think part of "this" healing, is to look ahead. Not necessarily to give your heart to the first rooster in the coop, but when you make plans for the rest of your life, whatever those may be, you put in that plan that there will be someone for you....
Some of us will "heal" quicker than others, or some will move forward too soon, only to end up back here wondering what happened.... again! But always keep in your mind, in your heart, that you WILL heal in time, and you WILL love again. In the end, isn't that what we want?
I'm wondering how much loneliness plays into my recent optimism about getting in to another relationship.
That would be the wrong reason so I have to be careful.
I actually had the fwb for a short time and at first thought this is perfect! But I realized very quickly that it's not me. I may not be looking for long term, serious or marriage right now, but I do know I need a little bit more than just that. But it's a mistake I don't regret, since it helped jump-start me into my divorce.
My advise is to approach it very slowly. I do think love is worth the risk, but I hope I have learned to know what I will and will not accept anymore. It will take a very very strong and patient man to knock down all these walls around my heart, and I already know that we will have to be friends first and that it will take me a long time again to trust. If ever. But if that guy does not think I am worth the time, then he ain't for me. I have learned to be perfectly okay by myself, I can take care of myself and another man will not be somebody to "rescue me" or "take care of me"....I can do that on my own. He will have to be somebody that will compliment and add to my life. Don't give up. There are good men out there!
and I agree with Rman
@ Llmt For me it is about feeling safe, secure and trusting in the relationship. If I do not, than I won't feel love.
I know for me, I have to feel safe and secure and trusting in myself first, so that is where I trying to focus my efforts.
This shit just sucks, I want Peaselove's optomism, lol
