Okay...this is a serious topic. Yes, it does stem from my other stupid post but it got me thinking about this. Who here has been a victim of a crime? Was it reported or not?

I have been the victim of domestic assault. I never reported it. My ex hit me a few times and threw stuff at me a few times. She bloodied my nose once. She also hit me with her car once as she backed out of the driveway.

I didn't report this because I didn't want to cause more problems. I was very embarrassed also.

I have been a victim several times and not I haven't reported it.

Armed hold up twice:
Once with a gun (reported)
Once with a knife (not reported)

Attempted robbery once (not reported)

Sexual assault over a period of three weeks. That was perpetrated by my brother when I was 14 and was never reported - not even to my parents.

I have been a victim of physical, verbal and emotional abuse. And he called the police on me every time i threatened to do it. Of course, I never would have done that to him, because I loved him. He threatened to kill me, threw me across the room, pushed me so hard into a car that it dented the door, and told me that I was in grave danger. He put a pillow over my head and said "die bitch die" strangled me, pushed me into the walls. Not to mention the horrible verbal abuse and crazy making tactics. He has told everyone that I have abused him, and they believe it. My in-laws wont talk to me after 31 years of marriage. I'm sorry that you have also gone through this. It is so painful to acknowledge that someone you love and gave your life to, can treat you like that. And then make you out to be the bad guy.

Only time I ever felt like a victim was with bubble gum machines behind me for getting lost in Newark, and for 40 in a 25 1/2 a block after it went from 40 to 25, in a small town, just months apart, in the same state. And all it cost was 800 to deal with them as if they never happened but lined pockets of coffers

I've been a crime victim...but not from a family member/spouse/partner. I was stabbed through the hand when I was 12 by a boy I went to school with..he wanted to get even with me for getting him in trouble for shooting me with a high powered pellet gun (nice kid). I also was the victim of a home break in when my son was an infant...we were home and I heard the perp trying to pick my lock, by the time he got the door open I met him with a firearm....I didn't care to be a victim again!
