3:30am and I am still awake. I just want to scream. Its not fair that while she was grieving for our marriage, she would tell me everything is ok, that she loved me very much. I have only had 4 weeks to grieve and find out about her feelings for my best friend (which went know where for her). She does not have any right to justify the feelings I have, telling me I was "unhappy" too. I was depressed and unhappy about our finances not our marriage, especially when she said she still loved me. I actually thought we were about to turn a corner and good times were just on the horizon. How could I be so stupid? I am so angry that she put our 17 yr old through this and he had to tell me. I am so angry that she has all of our friends to lean on, and I have found out most of them don't know what happened and have not even texted me. I am so angry that our family life has been ruined. I am so angry that she is getting to find herself, while I'm stuck with the babbling idiot I've become. I am so angry that my weekends with friends and her have been taken away, I absolutely hate the weekend, the pain just intensifies. So glad that it is Monday.

I am so sorry this is happening to you. Being on the recieving end of a broken heart, left to pick up the pieces while they move on without a scratch. Very painful indeed. I hope that your recovery will be as soon as possible. Keep the faith. Many hugs.

I completely relate brother. My STBX has miraculously become a new person, having fun every weekend, finding herself. And the whole time I am just left totally wrecked without her. I just wish I could move past this sucks, sleepless, depressed stage, I want to be where she is, I want to move on. Keep your head up brother, all we can do is take minute by minute. I agree the weekends are horrible, thank God for Monday.

If divorce is inevitable, find a DivorceCare group. They will understand and be supportive. Your anger is justified and needs to be expressed in a healthy way to go forward. Don't keep it to yourself. It takes some time and work to get past the intense rejection.

I have gone to the divorce care, I will try again, but did not feel comfortable. It seemed like everyone in the group had been divorced for 10+ years! One lady talked the entire time about how tiny she was and literally took up the entire time we were there. I tried to find empathy but it was really hard. I wanted to say no wonder he left you (I know not very PC or Christ-like)

Thats weird about that many years out. I attended
Many times. They were all a little different with the
Facilitators and the people that went only one lady
Had been divorced 8 years but still struggled.

Its really not a support group for the long term i
sometimes Utilized it like that but thats not whats
it there for. I enjoyed When the elder members
came to visit it helped Getting their further out
perspectives. Some times the mix of one group
Is not always that great.

I went for me to get better Just like Alanon. I needed
help i was on my bottom and i was reaching out for
Help, love and support. HUGS

So sorry that you are experiencing such hurt, anger and feelings of betrayal and loss at this time in your life. Can you find a counselor to sort some of these issues out and help you make a plan as to how you will deal with upcoming decisions and how you will respond to your wife in the future? Is your 17 year old son living with you now? Either way he will need emotional support from you. As hard as it is, reach out to guy friends who you can find some activities or mutual interests to engage with on the weekends. Get involved in healthy activities that you haven’t had time for in the past. Let your absentee wife see that life goes on without her. It will get her attention. I would suggest Dr. James Dobson’s book, Love Must Be Tough that explains how to deal with a partner who has lost interest in the relationship. Hugs and prayers are with you in this tough time.
