I can't deny your point and I see many people, some of them here on this site, who are very scared by the experience. I know that I am working on forgiveness. I am fairly certain that the vast majority of people don't start off thinking they will cheat and yet almost half of all marital partners do. We need to try to forgive each other, heal each other and live happy.
