I have recently concluded that at this point the biggest reason I am sad is that I am letting go of my "dream"... my future hopes and dreams with my stbx (we had big "retirement years" dreams, and I also just really enjoyed the idea of being married and having a complete family). I feel that an important step in my process is to create new dreams to look forward to... that do not include him. I am trying to figure out what it is that I would like to do and who I would like to be (it seems I really lost myself in this marriage... so just figuring that out will be a process). But I was curious, for those of you who have done this work, what are some of your hopes and dreams? (They could be short term or long term goals- and could be related to anything; work, love, education, fun, travel- really anything). I think it will be helpful to my journey to hear some of your great ideas...

I want to have a life where I can afford to be with family and friends. I want to be afford and have the will to allow others in my life to see experience this life along with me from time to time.
I still have friends from home who won't drive the interstate. They think I'm crazy out of my mind when I fly or eat sushi. The ex gave me this experience and was 100% opposed to change. It is my dream to open my mind up and maybe eat a food that has onions in it. My dream is to look back at my life someday and feel I haven't missed a thing.
