Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
For several years I cried myself to sleep because just a hug would have been wonderful. Just to have a male talk to me. Just to feel something besides the bad feelings....
And then in the morning you get up and fake out the day.
I tried the dating sites online for 3 years and met some nice people. One was a site where both sexes could talk back and forth.
One thing you might consider is a divorce group through your church. I think they are called New Beginnings. Everyone I know who has gone to these love them. You meet both sexes and talk things out.
There is a site online called First Wives World that welcomes both sexes.
Until you are at peace with yourself, it's hard to bring in another person. You can try the "Friends With Benefits" routine, but I'm not sure about sleeping with someone and then letting go when you find the right one.
One last thing that I tried and worked - affirmations in the present tense. "I am with someone I love", "I love my work:", "I am past the pain", "I am successful". Tellling your brain that it already is makes the brain think that way.
I hope this helps.
I did the dating site thingy, plenty of fish and Oasis Active, i put a profile up one night 3/4 full of cheap red wine and Dutch courage and self pity and before I new it, i was lucky enough to have been contacted by a very nice lady - who was also damaged goods like me.
We met for coffee, liked each other and later that night we cried in each other's arms. We are still very good friends but no longer lovers.
Mate, i guess my point here is that if you even re-read this thread, you will see a lot of damaged people responding. We have all been - or are still lonely and would love to have somebody to just hang with or to talk with or even hold on these long, lonely nights.
if you are honest with them you might be surprised.
I met a lady on plenty of fish, who, f I am very luck, will still want to mary me in about 4 months.
Do what is right for you and for anybody who you might meet. Karma will take care of the rest.
