Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
Wishing you good things!
A) Being on here lets you know that you aren't alone, that you aren't crazy, that you haven't gone off the deep end. It's important to know that what you are going through is normal.
B) I love the company of women, some of the best friends I've ever had were women, not with the expectation of sex or any of that, just friends. Women are fantastic and wonderful and really, just the light of the world in my opinion. And someday one will be the light of my world, and I will be the light of hers.
I also deal with the "I would like someone" issue (dealing with it now--it sucks), but I also know that until I'm really ready to date again, I'm going to sit it out. It's not fair to the guy I may date if my head isn't in the right place, and it isn't fair to me either.
Do your homework--heal yourself first. It's not fair to some really nice woman who may develop feelings for you and then get hurt in the process because you're really not ready to date.
Try meetup.com if you want to just find some friends to hang out with. It's not a dating site, but a place to connect with people who share common interests. Volunteering is also a good way to meet people.
I get the loneliness thing--many of us deal with it daily, but we also realize that jumping into relationships without being ready can be a mistake too. I did this after my divorce, made huge mistakes and now am taking the time I need for reflection, reading, and healing. I suggest the same for you. Check out "Date or Soulmate" by Neil Clark Warren. Good book for self-reflection.
Sending hugs.
Try to remember that you don't deserve it either....
REALLY?
All right then. Bottle of lotion and access to the internet.
Try torrent download tools (with good anti-virus or the Linux operating system)
But my advise is to learn to use both hands, that way you limit carpal tunnel...etc....
I get what you say about putting someone else through it, and it's smart. I am personally 'not fit for human consumption' right now. I will be, then I'll stop going through so much lotion.
Speaking of which, can you fix my daugthers car? I think the engine probably shouldn't be SMOKING right? and when you turn the ignition, the engine should start running right? When the starter is gone, when you turn the car off, does it still kind of run????
Are there other towns close by? Maybe you could join a gym there. Expand your horizens buddy. You seem to be outgoing.
I still think it's best not to rush, but making new friends seems to be what you need.
