Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
Like the Nike commercials say....Just Do It!!
You never know where they may lead you. Ive found post divorce, when I look back, Im doing things that would have never crossed my mind way back when. Sometimes the things we find we enjoy sneak up on us.
Just have an open mind, let them in,. and have some fun with them.
dream
write it down (Namaste's great advice)
and keep dreaming
and keep writing
and then for me, I just let the urge push from within
rather than trying to manufacture it
TML's original thread about how we want to be remembered was really good for this sort of stuff, wasn't it?
Breakups and heartbreak really does knock us on our ass (like the bone crushing vehicle mishap I said I felt like). We definitely need our time to heal, recover in quiet and peace. But then, once the stitches come out, the casts are removed and we're not in pain or wobbling on our feet anymore -- look out!
(((hugs)))
We fill our lives with a lot of distractions, many of them take away from the goal we are really striving for and take our eyes off the end point of where we want to be.
Distractions can be good. They can help us through difficult times and give us reprieve when it is much needed. Sometimes we come to rely upon those distractions as a way of life then find it difficult to go back to the way we once were.
Whatever it is that is keeping you from your dreams now, I hope that you won't be rekindling your desire to achieve your goals due to making up for your loss. Shine for the original reasons you wanted to, because it was inspiring to you.
to get back on top, we have to first appreciate what we have at the bottom and build on that. so, look at your life right this minute. look at all of the things right now that are great. then, use your logic, creativity, and intuitions to create something that rings really good right now. do not base it on your past or some idealistic dream. base it on what you have right now to work with and trust in inspiration and intuition. :)
there are many open doors around you right now. look for them !
when we can get very good at flourishing on the bottom, there is no limit to the heights that we can achieve. this is another example of life's many paradoxes.
good luck. i have a hunch that this world is going to be benefitting greatly by your upcoming contributions.
Than Again, your words , ", I hope that you won't be rekindling your desire to achieve your goals due to making up for your loss. Shine for the original reasons you wanted to, because it was inspiring to you. "...truck a chord with me... somewhere deep down I know I ought to reignite my passions for the right reasons--not as a way to make up for this loss, as that seems more like a defeatist attitude.
I will take the advice of others here of writing my dreams and goals in Life again...writing them itself would be a powerful way to refocus.
And as Faithful said, I need to start again--maybe to reach my large aims, I need to start from where i am...first to start enjoying my what i do for a living...look for creative ways to find how i can do that. Sometimes I do think my past ambitions were too high...sometimes i doubt my capabilities to go anywhere close to them...but perhaps if i can start to rethink about these aims for my own self...i'd stopped thinking about these aims as they seemed/seem as something i cannot even think about now. I could atleast start walking towards them(by reminding myself aout them)...i'd stop walking cos i have been focusing my energies into just getting by , which is hardly inspiring.
I could start by answering Namaste's question: 'So, what is it that you want to do?' : I want to be my best (always wanted this) in whatever I do. What is 'my best' is something that I shall need to remember again.
What happens when you dont HAVE any passions? I have none. I wish I did- I wish there was something that excited me, but there isnt. :(
solution? inundate yourself with ideas, information, and all sorts of input. start by researching what other people's passions are. read about them. get audio books. just keep feeding your mind with input. eventually, you will have absorbed so much that your own ideas will start to surface. your sense of excitement will surface naturally.
but right now feed your mind with great input.
After you do all your research and have all that info, take some time to be quiet and silent. Block out all the noise and all the interferences and see what thoughts persist. I have noticed that when I block out all the outside chatter, one things keep popping up at the back of my mind. I know I have my focus now and I'm taking the steps to get there.
its the uncomfortable but necessary space between the last chapter, and the new one
just rest
things will come soon enough
you dont have to force anything
