Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
I'm looking for advice on my co-parenting situation. Long story short my ex cheated on me with several girls. After we started the divorce process he moved in with one of the girls. Currently (a few years later) he married that same girl and they have a son together. She tried to reach out to me: friend request on facebook, offered me a ride once and sometimes at my daughters' school events she was beginning to talk to me directly which was huge for us. Anyways, recently she unfriended me on Facebook. I'm a little put off because I guess I thought she was reaching out, I was trying as well and I was imagining in 3 years us 3 could come together for a graduation open house for my daughters. So I guess I'm disappointed because I was already having high hopes (a little early). She even confided me about a few things with my ex (her husband) and I was honest with her. I have no intention on getting in the middle of those two. I have no interest in him whatsoever. The ex and I never talk - not unless it has to do with scheduling or a concern one of us has (our daughters see a counselor). Which is fine. I don't expect us to be good friends by any means. I don't expect to be friends with his wife either however, I thought things were moving in a positive direction.
Any comments, advice? I'm mostly venting on here but I know I will have to let it go. After all, you can't fix what you don't know.

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

It's been some time since my last post...sorry. I've been going through a challenging time with the sale of my home, purchase of a condo and my adult asperger son that lives with me. I've had days where I couldn't get out of bed, days where I stayed in my pj's and days where all I managed to do was eat, drink fluids and take care of my Sweet Mia kitty. Sweet Mia came to me from a shelter about...

if I were in your shoes, I'd be polite with x/new wife, communicate Only To Kid seeing dad, and nothing other than kid related concerns.
I think she may have unfriended you because she had a moment of remorse about confiding in you about your ex. She absolutely did the wrong thing but turning to you about this... you are not her therapist, you are not her friend... you are there for one reason only - to keep a pleasant, peaceful relationship between you, him and the kids.
Eventually she is going to figure out who he is as a person and nobody, not even you, can change her mind right now because she loves him and has a baby...
this must be so difficult for you to watch. You are a good person... everything will work out.
DryEyes90 - my ex is a pathological liar and manipulator. He has a sex addiction. (diagnosed officially) I worry about his "head games" with my daughters however, they are getting older and figuring things out on their own. Also thankful for their counselor who helps them often with talking with their Dad.
You all have some great advice - thanks again
