Sorry...my wife did the same after 24 years together, raised 2 kids...boom she's "not happy", wouldn't consider counseling or anything, found out later she had her hooks into someone else. 3 years later now..it gets better trust me. Now I feel he can have her. Best move I made was cutting her off 100%, haven't had any communication in well over a year..close to two probably, I lost track. Focus on yourself and kids if you have any. Time really does help.

yah i hear ya.. all i can advise is think of her misfortunes, that will make u feel better. you would be glad she is not with you anymore.

It's sad bc I always thought love was a bond and you could work anything out. Like you I will never understand the behaviors of the spouses mentioned here. Take yourself out for a coffee...buy a new book...see a movie. It's our own thoughts that torture us bc we would never do what they have done...and never will.

I am very sorry that you are going through this. sometimes people don't feel happy because they don't realize what they have, it sounds like you have been a really good husband all these years. Try and stay positive and keep your head up and hopefully very soon she will realize everything she has and she come home. I will be praying for you and your wife.

Be proud you did everything you could in the relationship. I know how hard it can be when you give everything you have into someone and they don't appreciate it. Sometimes people just get use to being treated well and don't even realize they are getting everything their heart desires.

I'm sorry you are going through this. I put my husband first for over 20 years and it was never enough. I was the thoughtful one, the one who did everything, raising kids, trying to be the best wife etc. It's incredibly painful to not be appreciated. Your wife is a fool to not value you. Unfortunately it's all about her and her needs. She's the loser not you. Get out and hike, go to coffee, the movies, etc. Her loss. Remember that. Her loss. Hugs.

It can be so easy to take partners for granted, especially when you've been together for a long time. It is sad after all those years that she was not able to communicate better with you about her needs and what she felt was missing. It sounds like you did an awful lot to try to make her happy. It's so hard to understand how the people closest to us could do things to us we would never do to them.

Only story is a microcosm of yours and I thought mine was bad I was together 11 years married six...same thing. Said shenwas beautiful and i love her daily. The problem is her there's nothing you can do about it but accept it. It's a ridiculously large pill to swallow and there is no glass of water, knowing it's not your fault doesn't give you much comfort but there's not much else you can do but not much else I can say. Okay that's not quite true hold on be stronger than you thought you ever could be and don't give in to surrendering life. Very difficult to see anything positive on the horizon but the mystery of the future is exactly that and perhaps you may meet someone in the next year who has a more genuine sense of self and can actually reciprocate what you have been doing for your wife because she doesn't seem capable of it but someone else might be

I'm going through the same thing at the moment. My husband left about two weeks ago, left my, our baby and our dog to think about what he wants... If things don't work out between us, I'll never understand what did I do so wrong...

I am so sorry...I am on the same emotional rollercoaster - my husband of 20 years left me 2 months ago after a brief affair. Says he needs to 'find' himself - I believe he is still seeing the OW. Like you, I feel like my heart has been ripped out. We had a good strong marriage (he also agrees) - but he now thinks its dull and humdrum. I am so sad and lonely & the emotional stress is crippling. Will this pain ever go away?

Lostalone: I'm in a similar situation, 30 years. Now she tells me she is unhappy with her life and instead of her leaving I'm 2weeks removed from the home and living in an apartment. While she is trying to move on and find herself and happiness. I'm doing the same. I can tell you there are good and bad days. I believe that as time goes by things will get better for all of us.
