I have been thinking about this a lot lately and I am a firm believer in this. Let me give you an example on how this has proved true in my life.
4 years ago I was a motor officer for two months. I laid a bike over and they took me off of the motor. At the time I really wanted to be a motor officer and it was a huge set-back to be taken off of the motor.
A few months later one of my very good friends in the Department, who was the other motor officer, was riding and doing a funeral procession. A vehicle cut through the funeral procession and he hit this vehicle. He was ejected from his motorcycle. He was in a coma for over a month and he has never fully recovered.
If I had been a motor officer still I would have been riding with him when this happened and this is a memory I don't want. There is another motor officer that has this image and it haunts him. Worse yet, if I didn't quit it could have been me and I would have been damaged for life (he did suffer some brain damage as a result for this crash).
Someone was looking out for me when I got pulled off of the motor. It seemed horrible at the time but now I look back and say "Damn I am glad that happened and things turned out this way."
I am now looking at my divorce in the same way. This thing could have gone on for years and years and happened to me later on in life and it would have been even harder to re-start. I have a fresh chance to find someone else who will fit me better and who will wants kids, like me.
I know that someday in the future I will look back and say "Damn I am glad that happened and things turned out this way."

Here is what I am saying....Things happen to you that seem like they suck at the time but they have happened for a reason and you may not know the reason at the time it happened but you will find the reason someday.
I would never wish bad on a friend or an enemy. The guy who was hit was a DAMN GOOD friend of mine and it really PISSES me off that you would even suggest something like that. WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU!?!?!
