The end of an era.

Today is not only my 27th birthday but it is also the day my ex-fiancé finally moved all of his stuff out of the house we picked out together (the house is in my name.) Naturally, today has been hard. I don't miss him anymore, but I do miss what I was used to. He's been a big part of my life for the last 7 years. I spent 7 birthdays with him and this one was no exception. He was good enough to at least acknowledge my birthday and wish me well. He was able to acknowledge that he was a really shitty person and that I deserve someone so much better. He said sorry and for once it seemed sincere. 



For me now it is finally over. It's time for me to make strides to move on. Hopefully my next birthday I can look back and see how far I've come and genuinely be happy. I know it's going to be a really long time before I trust another man again and I just hope I eventually get there. He lied to me for so long that he loved me and that's not something you can easily get over. 



Heres to a long and hopefully much better road.

Thank you! I am trying to be strong but I still have a lot of struggles. Specifically night time. I have the hardest time going to bed. That's when all the memories flood in as well as the fact that he has someone else. Sleeping is probably the hardest for me at this point.

I am so sorry! I know you miss what you are used to (as do I), but be glad you did NOT marry him!
That's what I keep trying to tell myself about her! Think how lucky we are!

Yes. I am glad I found out before it was too late. I guess I wish I just knew sooner. Then, I wouldn't have lost out on so much money for a wedding that won't happen. I paid for the majority, and my parents the rest. He didn't contribute because he hardly ever made enough. I wish he would have been honest with me about all the times he was unhappy so we could either work on it or end it sooner. He acknowledges that he should have, but didn't and can't go back now.

I try to be strong and I want to believe I am a strong person, but most of the time I am just trying to convince my brain of that. Inside I feel like I'm falling apart. I can't turn my memories off. It's always the good ones too. Then followed by the bad that just make me feel angry and helpless.

You will be fine. Right now; You have to take care of yourself. That is what you need to do and there are better men who will love you for you. Give yourself a break from dating and work on you.
