I remember this from my first marriage, how hurtfull the cold is in the people who used to love you so much.
Just the way they look at you and talk to you.
I was talking to my wife and she was being so mean to me. I told her "do you have any idea the pain im in".
She said "dont you think im hurting too."
I told her of course I knew she was hurting.
But she doesnt know the pain you get when someone who used to love you tells you they dont want you anymore. How could she?
"I told her, Carrie you have never had a close relative die. I have. And if you had you would know the pain im in because its the exact same sickness and ache you get inside, no different."
She just looked at me like I was giving her the 'guilt' routine.
It doesnt matter anyways. Even if she could feel or sympathize with my pain, it wouldnt change her feelings.

My STBX only respected me after I stopped communicating all the pain I was in. Talking about how you can't go o without them makes you,(men and women) look weak.
Talk to DS about the pain, talk to her about the divorce. Telling her you are in pain only pushes her away, and she is leaving you anyway. She hasn't told you but she has already made up her mind.
I agree with tipote in that when I used to ask him to stay, and would share my pain, that he had already made up his mind to leave.
I am glad that I finally after 18+ years had the courage to let him go.
I emailed him the other day asking to send me some of my files off our computer related to dog training because I had been asked to teach a class. He sent me my W2 in an envelope in the mail but do you think he could send me my files with it? No, he sent them to his lawyer who sent them to mine, taking a week and a half to make the rounds like I just aren't worth anything at all even if it's important to me and doesn't affect him, he has to go OUT OF HIS WAY to avoid even the slightest bit of kindness.
