It is natural to grieve this great loss. Isn't it AWFUL that we just have to travel through this horrible time of loss and adjustment w/o any shortcuts? We just have to feel these feelings.... I think your partner is missing out on much by forgoing her commitment to you..... you seem like quite a human being to me.
Hugs and comfort to you, peace to us all. Soon.

Peace and hugs to you. It will get better.
I can offer some to you. My ex husband, years ago, called me on the phone at work to tell me he isn't in love with me anymore. We had a 4 year old, had a life and was happy. I thought things were fine and BAM.
I cried, begged, pleaded, tried to convince him and made a blubbering ass out of myself and he ran harder and faster away. I stayed up nights on the computer with private detectives and going through every cell bill and bank statement looking to get him and make him PAY.
I gave up. I grieved. I cried. I started to heal. I starting putting my daughter and myself first and foremost with no agenda. Made new friends and was genuinely happy with my new life.
He came to me about 10 months later and sat in my new kitchen of my new little house of my very own and HE CRIED. He said he loved me and made mistakes and didn't know what came over him... he wanted his life back.
Karma - I rejected him.
Grieve, be mad, be crazy, and day by day it will go away until the pain and the dreams of your life together will disappear and you can clearly see your own life taking shape - A new life, a better life.
We are all here to listen and support you through this time.
