Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
I think having your own space ultimately will reallly REALLY help.. and hopefully give you and your daughter more 1:1 time to connect.. its tough.. my daughter is 9.. and she really had a hard time with the transition.. everyday I heard the 'I want my daddy!'.. and of course I'd let her call.. but we've been here almost a year now, and our new daily routine is setting in.. just be easy on yourself and her.. its a really tough adjustment for both of you..
a day with stbx can be very trying.. sounds like you did a good job keeping the peace and getting what needed to be done done..
try not to focus so far ahead right now.. and just take things a day at a time.. things will settle, and I promise things will get better.. keep up the good work :)
Your daughter is also going through this with you both, so don't make yourself crazy and read too much into her demeanor. As time goes by, she will see that you still love her and are steadily there for her. She may be worried you won't be and who knows what stbx fills her head with. Actions speak louder than words though, so just be there for her when she needs you and all will be well. You've got this.
They love you. You. Are doing a fabulous job keeping it civil. It is worth it. Same boat for me all around. One day, I was tired, feeling a bit sorry for myself. Starting to wonder if it was worth being the grownup all the time. I happened to have a chance encounter with someone I really admired and I opened up. She was more eloquent than me. But, the upshot is that she had been through it 15 years previously and she categorically insisted it was worth it.
You can do it, you have been doing it. Your daughter will absolutely understand and appreciate it some day.
Sorry that is adding to your stress...
