Did this happen all of a sudden? Have there been any other problems in the marriage before this happened? Had you known that she was talking to someone else?

Try to talk to her. Ask her what is it that she is unhappy with in your marriage. Remind her about her daughter,

She is acting impulsively. Tell her how much you want to save your marriage and would she at least go to marriage counseling before she throws this all away? Try to reason with her. Tell her she is making a huge decision that will affect her, you, and your daughter together.

I am in the same boat except 2 daughters,20 years of marriage and 25 years together. I am barely breathing so i don't think i can help you very much.
My brother has been through this and told me just to stay as busy as possible.
Find hobbies to keep you busy to keep your mind from the pain.
All i do is cry most days and nights, i cant eat,sleep,think,etc im a mess.

I am so sorry. Mine lasted 30 years and now it's just property to fight over. I will pray for you. Mine was an amazing mom as well, but...I do tell people that I feel like I lost my wife the day she became a mother. I can by no means be angry about this, but I really needed my partner and poorly handled what I perceived to be a drifting away. But on the other hand, I was not completely wrong...a tree takes time to bear fruit, that's all.

I'm so sorry for what you are going through. When my wife told me she wanted to leave I felt like it was all of the sudden also. You see what I have come to realize is that people like our wives hide their feelings. My wife used the excuse that she is such a good Christian that anytime I would not live up to her expectations as a husband she would just cry about it alone, pray to God and then forgive me and keep on serving me as if nothing was wrong. That's what she calls being a good Christian. I call it being fake almost our entire marriage. Being a Christian, praying to God and forgiving are all wonderful things but what about just being honest with your husband about your true feelings. I know that the stereotype is that women expect men to be mind readers (we do need to learn to pay attention a lot more) but that's just unfair. It sounds like your wife chose to not be authentic and honest with you just like mine. That is not your fault. She chose to let resentment grow in her heart instead of really try and be real and open with you. That is not your fault. This is going to be a very difficult time for you and you can't do it alone. Ask for help from family and friends. Be honest with them about how you are feeling and what you need. Find a good therapist and work on you. Try and use this experience to grow and become a better and stronger man. You and your wife might still have a chance to work this out and she will appreciate and be attracted to your new strength. If you don't work out then look out world! Here comes a man that is stronger than he has ever been and ready to do things he has only ever dreamed. Good luck bro! I'm praying for you!
