I cannot believe how frustrating that would be.
However I was in the same boat my senior year and was already signed up to go into the military after graduation. I ended up quitting school but instead of going for my GED I enrolled in a local community college program that was an adult high school program and within a few months I was able to complete the course and get an actual high school diploma.
If he's already quit this might be a better option than the GED.

Do you guys have court order on custody at all? I be seething too but we aren't even allowed to do this without other parent consent.

We just seperated, he is 18, so I don't think we will have any offers regarding him. I need to iron some of those questions out with my attorney.

your son doesn't have the life experience to deal with these things. Show him all the love you can and try to set aside your anger and pain towards his mother. Lead by example. Hard to do but try.

Telling him often that I love him. He was having a hard time the other day and said "I need to know you will be there when I fail" I lost it, his heart is hurting so much. He thinks she doesn't love him, and that she only loves herself right now. I told him we all fail and that I will always be there and that his mom does love him, she is just so lost right now that she can't show it.

Will he go to conseling at school or

You most certainly should have been asked what your opinion is first, before anything was decided and done. No matter what the situation you are still one of his parents. You have to be informed and consulted about him and decisions that will be made regarding your son.
