I was sitting at my desk just reflecting on the past 10 years of my life and I realized something that I had not previously realized. My wife never really gave a crap about how I felt. She never, not once asked me what I did at work, or how my day went. She never asked how I was feeling. She never asked what I wanted. She never really gave a crap. It was always about what was going on in her life. I don't know why it took me so long to realize this and I really don't know why the thought even popped in my head today. Sometimes reflecting on the past will help you to realize the truth. Getting dumped sucks ass, but in reality, sometimes it actually means that you are being given the opportunity to begin your life...

Yep it's a hard pill to swallow....but one that all of us eventually go through....reflecting and realizing some of the crap we put up with.

Everything in life happens for a reason...have to go through the hard times to get to the good.

been there man, been there. I came to some of those realizations before I walked out the door. I think it was the day I came home after working 14 hours, found him sitting on the couch with his hand in his tightie whities and his first comment was "What you fixin me for dinner?"

yes, I have to tell it really bites when you realize that you are the only one that "showed up" in the relationship, I am sure this will not be the only revelation you have.

gotta send the rman a hug for that reflection.... it sucks... and it made me realize that before my ex left, i can't recall the last time he asked how i was doing or how work was for me... amazing how blind i was to his lack of caring

Unfortunately babe, this is what is going to make a difference in the future. I know it doesnt sound like it, but thats what selfish people do they only care about themselves, and Iknow that you deserve someone who does give a shit about YOU.

One thing I cannot complain about....is that my ex was always grateful for holding the family together, for being a mother to his son that he had sole custody of and whom I mourn for now since I lost him to the divorce. I had no biological nor legal rights to him. But...he is grateful and would be so sad that I had to leave the house by 5:15 a.m. to get to work. Too bad his gratitude didn't hold us together because he left it all for the cyber OW! He NEVER EVEN MET HER IN REAL LIFE....he left us for mirage.

So, on the flip side, I was very much appreciated but it didn't make indispensable.

I am with you ZXJ...my stbx told me he loved me everyday...made me feel beautiful and special up until the day he left...not sure what is worse...believing in something that was a lie - or not seeing what was never there...ugh...reflecting sucks!
