i have been with my gf almost 6 years. About 8 months ago I relocated to her hometown because her father passed away and we were long distance. We agreed to stay with her mom 6 months which I was okay with. Well I’m miserable here, her mom is very controlling of everyone, extreme ocd, anxiety and she constantly yells. To top it off her sister, her husband and two kids have moved in too. The sister has mental illness, the kids are not disciplined and there is drama everyday in the house, no peace and quiet at all. This livings situation is causing me anxiety and my gf and I are not intimate, there is no affectionate and she is mentally abusive, calling me names and never apologizing. I can never do anything right from making the bed to folding towels. I feel like a robot in boot camp and I am ready to leave this dysfunctional home because I am mentally drained. My happy place is work. Any advice would be appreciated. Has anyone gone through anything similar?

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
I’ve been with my girl for 4 years and we are in long distance. Her family is pretty controlling there is an unbelievable amount of distinction in her family, to put it bluntly I wouldn’t be able to live with her family, and trust me the same things your girl has said to you, mine has said to me, one thing I can say is that we couldn’t live with her family but if we lived together on our own we would be way better off.
Definitely see if she is willing to move with you. If not here is what I suggest move out but stay in town and continue to date, work on your own happiness while still having her in the picture, eventually you can ask her to move in with you (if she wouldn’t already) and try to move forward, but get out of their house, you have too, you don’t have to break up with her but you have to get out, and she may not accept it at first or be very angry with you, but she will come to understand the situation you’re going through later, especially if you two get better/ more healthy in your relationship
