I believe my Mom contacts me on my birthday. Three years in a row I have found a random thing in the middle of the floor on my b-day. First year it was a birthday card she had sent years earlier. The next year was a photo of her and her sister as children. The following year, the same sister as adults. I think your theory has merit....
