I wish HE were dead...by accident...so i can get the insurance money...
Do you have a stake?
You hear stories of stbx's lurking and it sucks. You hear about how people can't say or post what they want in fear that it'll come back to them bc their stbx's are lurking. Granted it's on the internet and out there for consumption but it still sucks as it takes away a tool to help get through all this crap.
Rman - I thought of you a few weeks ago and reading your earlier responses sparked my memory. I was at a divorce support group and this lady who is essentially living in limbo...not going through divorce nor talking about it with her husband. (I asked if she knew rman she said...no..jk :). Anyways, they've been living like this for the past year and a half. They sleep in separate bedrooms and have 3 kids ranging from 6 to 12. Anyways, the overwhelming advice she got from the group was that she should be moving forward to get a divorce. She had reservations because she didn't want to "end the marriage" and I certainly can understand that on a personal level as I feel the same....work through the issues so to speak. But for her it's been a year in a half and they essentially live separate lives outside of keeping up appearance for baseball games etc for the kids. The question was asked to her and I think it hit home with her as you saw her attitude start to change. The question was asked...is this what you want your kids to grow up and think that your marriage is "normal" and how it should be. Mom and Dad sleeping in separate rooms barely talking outside of "appearances". Is that what you want for them. She said no...she said didn't want her daughters to think that this is how a husband a man should be treating his wife...that is not the norm and she didn't want them thinking that. She also wanted her son to see what it is to be a loving husband, etc. Which she realized they are not seeing that now. So ultimately...I hope in her case she has realized that this is not what she wants for her kids and staying together for the sake of the kids isn't the right thing. To say nothing of the fact, that she has essentially lived the past yearh in a half in limbo when she herself can be moving on. The reality was her husband doesn't want to work on things...so now what...she keeps doing this for a few more years than they get a divorce? Meaning x amount of years is....I don't want to call it this but almost wasted? Anyways, just food for thought....in general. It seemed like her situation was similar to your not sure if it helped or not...if not feel free to tell me to STFU :)
