How many people on here have been into someone and heard that phrase come from their mouth?

I haven't heard that phrase in a while but that is the normal thing for me in the dating scene.

Ladies, what makes a guy a canidate for "Let's Just Be Friends?" What makes a guy a canidate for more?

I would guess it depends on the chemistry you have while you're out together.. Ive given the speech a few times before my marriage.. mind you I was young and shallow, but when I was 18, this guy showed up to take me out , just got done work didnt shower first, so his hair was all sweaty and nasty looking.. found out he dressed like a power ranger and took pics with kids for a living so my mom tried to pimp me out for him to come to my brothers birthday party.. during dinner, he started talking marriage and kids.. FIRST DATE! .. then he proceeded to fart in the diner.. and announced he "Didnt mean to cut the cheese". by 8:30 I was so out of there, and he got the just friends speech

OK....NO WAY IN HELL I ACT LIKE THAT. I am very polite....Open car doors, compliment my date, pay for everything, and keep good manors. Manors are very important.

I also appear well dressed and well groomed for a date. I am kind of old fashioned. Sometimes, if I think that I will really like the date, I will bring them 1 flower.

Sometimes it's a matter of physical attraction, sometimes emotional attraction, sometimes that undefinable personality chemistry, sometimes it's "baggage"...and sometimes, the timing plain old sucks!

If it's from the heart, it's a complement - it means 'I want you in my life, even though the 'click' is not there for me, and it's worth it to get past this awkward thing to have the friendship' - at least, that's what it means if I say it.

If I just don't like someone as in ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww ... no contact. no friends. good luck. good bye.

but. If I'm into someone, there is no good way to hear those words.

I've never been told that, but I also haven't been out with anyone but my stbx in over 25 years. If someone were to tell me that it would be the last time I saw that person. I don't have time for BS.

That phrase has not been used on me since high school. I have used it on here for a few women. There has to be some chemistry.

When there is no possibility to be romantically and sexually involved = that's a friend for me. Of course, we need to have common interests.
