But also, mavsg...there is a difference between having to support financially and choosing to use one task as an excuse. It is similar to men who spend 99.9% of their time, trying to improve their careers...
It's an excuse to get out of all the other responsibilities in life...IMO...

Rman, you are correct. People use various things to numb themselves or make themselves ignore things they should otherwise be on top of.

I'm far, far from halfway perfect...but don't use things as an excuse to avoid the lives you've fucked up...

yeah, I paid too much attention to my kids....thats why my baby daddy left me...he wanted all the attention ALL the time...and I just told him no...so, he left...

A woman with children is like a mother bear with her cubs. If she cuts you off from them, it is sustenance, for the kids, as she sees no option. It is not ignorance, of you. Rise above it and keep it together. She needs a connection.

I was a soccer mom and the refs hated me....FOCK THEM! But, I never stressed my kids out to be the best players but, to just play win or lose was fine by me. The point is getting them some exercise and MAYBE a trophy at the end.

So, the analogy of the "soccer mom" is not on target; however, my ex did tell me that my focus on the children was more than I gave him. Well, that was his opinion. He would only take me out to do thinks and didn't include the kids in our outings nor would he take time off to take vacations. The children only had me.

Oh and he is no longer part of our lives in thought nor dysfunction.

You are enabling your wife's inability to do something for herself. MILLIONS of women do it.
