I know there was a post about this before but I forgot what was said. I did try to go on E Harmony because I got a free three day trial period and I thought it might be a good time to try it. I just wanted to see if I could maybe touch base with someone and take it slowly because I am scared of the whole dating thing. I just wanted to start out maybe getting to know someone through e mail. Anyway because I am not divorced yet (soon hopefully) when I got to the end it would not let me because they only take you if you are divorced and free to be with someone. Has anyone else who is not divorced yet try this, also has anyone used this dating services just to take it slow not to get serious quickly?

I tried it but I was divorced for over a year before I ventured....I ended up deleting by profiles to the sites and got banned from Plenty Of Fish....true story.

Don't be in a rush. Work on yourself and be free enough to bring a healthy you to the table...eyes wide open.

I personally don't trust E-harmony. I know too many people who have gotten burned by that service. I have tried the online dating thing...the guys are nice in the beginning but, once they get bored with you or find someone better...bye bye. I have given up on those sites.

I am scared of online dating, never done it before, what are the pitfalls and the upstrokes?

I have, but not eHarmony.....but the ladies that I have encountered are the one that were moving pretty fast...... and the one I am one allows separated, divorced, single, even married...but as with all dating online or face you need to be able to read the people....for they are some really strange one out there....

I've tried eHarmony. I met some nice guys on there. One of them I didn't click with, one of them was moving too fast for me, the other one I ended up being friends with and we go to plays or movies - stuff like that. I went with him to see Paranormal Activity on Saturday night. I'm not sure he liked the movie and I haven't heard from him. Oh well.

I agree, don't rush it. I tried it and went on a few dates with one guy. We are still friends and had a great couple of dates together. I deleted mine when I met Dave (Not online). (I wasn't feelin' that whole scene much anyway. Heck...I can barely keep up with Facebook! lol)

BUT in adding to the whole concept on the online thing...it can and DOES happen for some peeps! Look @ Pasta & Amy...Jeff & Shattered...etc. It can work sometimes!

(Oh here we go again!) No TD...DS is not a dating sight, but there have been people that have connected on a different level....that's all I'm sayin'. (And good for them!) They also put in the great effort to heal themselves first....that's the hard work! & It paid off!!! :-)

Thanks I really was hesitate to try the online dating think because that is one way my stbx did find some of his women through match.com. I know he was married and lying about it so I suppose there are plenty of others also lying about there married status. I guess I was just going to try it because I am nervous about just meeting someone and thought this was a good way of just communicating through e-mails first. I just wanted to see if I could find someone I am feeling alone and wanted to have someone in my life
But those of you who said I should wait and work on myself are probably right since I am in a place right now I don't think to well of myself.

i jointed a dating site and was able to date several people. it was fun and a distraction and i have nothing but good experience.

that is until one of the men i met on this DS dating site cast a damn spell on me and now i have to wait to see if i still have a crush in person.

other then that, i encourage you to break out of your shell and meet new people.. push your limits. and have fun! and be treated like a lady!

I tried it for a few weeks to see what E Harmony was like. I could see how my ex could manipulate his answers to find the type of woman he would be looking for.

I know he got on another site that did check to make sure you are not married and he did it with someone else's I D.

You have to be careful when you are on those sites. Most of them are based on being truthful and we all know how much people can lie.

I have tried E harmony but the guy that I was talking too wanted someone skinner then me. I sent him a picture of me that was in my file and he didn't like what he saw. I went to mate1 and you just put separated on it and its free to the women only and I have met someone really nice.
