My ex- has attempted to contact my attorney directly, and the first question that my attorney has asked is: "are you represented by counsel?" When the answer was yes, my attorney firmly advised the ex- that she was not allowed to communicate with her under those circumstances. My attorney was able to talk directly to her during the times she was not represented - and often without my prior knowlege or approval.

I think you need to get all of the facts before you go firing from the lip. Talk to your attorney and seek an explanation.

Assuming this is not some kind of lawyer representing both of you deal, your lawyer is way out of line and should be fired and reported to the state bar. If not that then he works for free from here on out and fights for the best deal he has ever gotten.

Under no circumstances should your atty have done this! You are paying him to represent YOUR Interests. Period! Sign nothing without having it reviewed. Are you both using the same atty? Not a good idea. If so, fire him immediately and get a new one. Report this to the state bar assoc. as soon as you can. Professional ethics do matter and any atty would know that. He/She is working for YOU, not the other way around. Document every single thing so you are covering yourself! Believe me!
