Why the hell is your atty meeting w/ you stbx without your knowledge? Get a new atty. Don't sign anything that you're not comfortable with.

Don't be upset. When your attorney calls you calmly tell him that doesn't work for you and you like deal X. Your attorney can't speak for you. Anything he says doesn't matter unless you say yes.

One more thing. Your STBX could by lying.

Tell your attorney he/she absolutely under no circumstance is to meet stbx without you present. Threaten to fire his/her ass and report him/her to the state association. That's certainly an ethics violation. Also, since you didn't know about nor approve the visit, tell the attorney you will not be paying for that time. That ought to get his/her attention.

Stay calm and think. My attorney told me that attorneys aren't supposed to talk to another attorney's client...so was your stbx's attorney there? No matter what, read the "agreement" and don't sign if you don't agree. You may need a new attorney if you realize that you cannot trust this one.

Oh my...it makes me glad that I have such a good attorney. My attorney cannot stand my x and it's reciprocated...heck I had to pull my attorney out of a room during depositions because he and my x almost came to blows!!! He isn't even charging me for a lot of what he should...and he's going after my x for a huge portion (well over half) of it because of x not complying with agreements and withholding documents CONTINUOUSLY.

In my estimation most (not all) attorneys are slime bags. I pretty much got screwed over at the temporary hearing so I read my attorney the riot act and told him in no uncertaqin terms that he was not to contact or make any deals with my stbx or his attorney without my approval in advance. I told him he was very close to conflict of interest and I was prepared to contact the state and report him for unethical behavior. Since then he has been very forthcoming and more on my side---I think. The final hearing is coming up so we will see. Good Luck.

The secret is to try and get a female lawyer who has bitterness towards men who commit infedelity, I found one who has also been through a bitter divorce and she definately is a man eater! I would not tolerate what yours did for a second.

I forgot to mention this. Last week or so (I can't remember) I went to court and my attorney told me my STBX's attorney was trying to charge me with contempt of court. I just about had a heart attack. He said he had to run to another court room for a few minutes and to grab the other attorney when he came out. I went in and politely asked him why he was charging me with this. He said I will leave the room. I can't talk to you without your attorney present. I said I will leave, my attorney will be back in a few minutes.

I personaly believe that absolutely nothing happens in Gods world by chance. Stay there and it will be as it should be. Sometimes we may not understand and it may seem unfair. I can tell you through my own experiance it will be good.
