New guy here, extremely confused at this moment

my wife and I have been together for 17 years, married for 12. We split up end of 2012, she started seeing someone, as Air wasn't paying enough attention. We maintained contact, due to kids and I moved back home 1500 miles away. Tried to get full custody of the kids, lost. Moved back there, ended up living in my old house in the basement. She was still seeing the same guy, every time he cheated on her she'd come crying to me. She'd sleep, with me for a week or so, then back to him. Every time id get the courage to leave, she'd come begging me to come home. I moved away again in 2016, come sept she came down here with me. Brought the kids, all her stuff. Two weeks later she packed up one morning and left, left me the kids. Went back to,the guy. She came back in December, apparently done with him, wanting to work things out. It's been a rough road, up and down. She's move in my room, move out. Start going out on weekends and staying out till 6am. Well, things came to a head a week ago when I found her still talking to the guy, sending him nude photos. I immediately blew up. She said it was recent, cause I was talking to other women, which I was because I needed something to make me feel wanted. She was leaving to move back home, leave me the kids. I begged her not to go. She says she'll think about it, now she's looking at houses with me, making plans for the future. But hasn't unpacked her things and won't tell me yes or no if she's still leaving or not. I'm sooooo lost.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
You fought for custody and lost and now she's ready to leave them with you. I would pack her bags for her and send her on her way, then get a court order granting you custody due to abandonment. You two together are a toxic mess.
Take some time away from her. IF she moves home then let that be the end. Now stand up for your kids and do right by them. Be the father you are meant to be.
For a moment before you take action, I urge you to just stop. Let all of the feelings, love - hate - hurt - happiness run through you mind. Hopefully you will hear what your heart and mind want... Just stop to listen to them both. When they agree then you know you will be happy with your decision. Don't make any solid decisions until they do. I learned this lesson the hard way.
i also caution against begging and pursuing as it reinforces her believing you'll always be there for her as you have been thus far. Flipping the switch and going distant may cause her to pursue (not always, but it does happen often)
i also suggest you doing things for you. enjoy life, try new things
If you are willing, it sounds as if you are, I think you should get professional help and wipe the slate clean! You need to heal, this is nothing but a destructive cycle that will soon begin to negatively impact your kids if it hasn’t already. If she’s still cheating on you then she’s exposing you and the kids to health risks etc. and other liabilities accompanying this type of behavior.
Most of all, your kids need YOU, they need a healthy YOU, and I apologize for my remarks, but you need to hear it…YOU BOTH need help to get out of this rut! Spiritual and mental counseling would be where I’d start: your church or local marriage counselor. Otherwise, you’ll always be the safe haven, the security blanket when things go badly in her life and your kids will suffer. You and your kids deserve better, you’re worth more than this, you owe it to yourself and your kids to get healthy!
Please consider what I’ve written, as I’ve stated, I’m a man of God and I will continue to pray for you and your family and I’m sorry if I’ve offended you and we may not know one another, but that doesn’t mean I care any less about your well-being!
