As for "narcissistic supply" , I would love to read more about that. It would probably explain even more to me. Lucky for me I am now free and I have closure. Unlucky for him is he hooked up with another NPD. May they live happily ever after. LOL!
There must be something within MY personality that makes me vulnerable to the lure of a narcissist. I seem to gravitate to them like a hapless moth to a flame.
Seriously, is there a disorder that causes people to fall for this particular disorder?
They suck the life and energy out of you until you don't know who you are anymore.
I hope you will fight to get your life back.
Now I'm working on me and me alone. My life will not be defined on who loves me. If I love myself than everything else will be fine. I can be alone and enjoy my own company. If someone does come into my life it will be for entirely different reasons.
Sometimes I think I'll give up on men altogether and just remain alone. But, then I keep thinking there was that ONE out of FOUR. Maybe.............
I seem to have this burning need to help/rescue/nuture the men in my life... to the extreme; to the ultimate extreme.
Time to nurture ME!
The book is Malignant Self Love
A very good read if you want to learn how a narcissist works.
He fit almost every one of those patterns (except the strange eating one)!
Thanks for sharing, Pem!
