I am very blessed financially, my wife liked that too much and I indulged her to my detriment. I spoilt her rotten, and rotten is the operative word.
If I had to, I would sacrifice most of what I have to be in a loving, stable, and committed relationship. Too much money and privliges is also a curse, if your partneris not mature enough to appreciate it.
Sooo...I wouldn't be happy without Any money...
but, my needs are simple, and I'm not rich by any means...
If someone loved me, they wouldn't drain my accounts...but I would definitely share what I have.
But the question was Rich (not just solvent), or Happy?
I'll pick Happy in a relationship.
But since I don't have that, I'll just be happy that I was able to buy myself a few things for my birthday and not having to worry about being able to pay for them.
I don't understand how ANYONE can retire and not be a millionaire.
its all about compound interest people... compound interest.

Small payments now mean easy retirement later. Its worth the cost of your coffee now to be able to afford REAL cappucino later.
I'm currently taking the Financial peace University course presented by Dave Ramsey

its well worth the 100 dollars you pay for the materiels, considering that it will show you how to EFFECTIVELY live DEBT free and CREDIT free for the rest of your life.
as i write this, I'm merely 1000 dollars short of being clear of all debt and after my income tax comes in, i will have 1000 dollars that will be put aside for "emergencies". By the end of December (following my financial plan) I will have 1 month of living expenses saved up (in case of job loss) and by the end of 2010 i will have 3 months of living expenses set aside.
This, from being 45000 dollars in debt and sinking fast just 4 years ago. and no... i don't have millions of dollars to spend here and there... I have an income that is only about 75 - 100 dollars higher than my expenses (its that high because i don't owe anyone on credit anymore)
I highly encourage you all checking out his book or, if you are opposed to christian literature (he teaches financial management using biblical principles) check out the book "The Automatic Millionaire" which is similar in content and which uses many of the same principles, though it still advocates using credit to your advantage to make money... which i disagree with.
Money :0)
Clarence: "Oh no, we don't use money in Heaven."
George Bailey: "Yeah well it comes in pretty handy down here, BUB."
He was smiling and everyone was standing around singing AND...
...the hat was filled with enough Money to pay for all the money stolen!!!
(Moral to the story...see that the money makes it into the bank Yourself!!)
