as i look at women and experience this same kind of thing, a part of me kind of rolls with it and finds some humor in it. especially when people like Awesome point out my oftentimes skeptical attitude by looking at odds of success so much.
yep, we are all going to go through the different phases, back and forth, until it all eventually levels out.
what's really sad are the guys and gals who get so pissed off and disillusioned that they switch sides. i think that is pretty darn strange and self-destructive. but, who am i to say that they shouldn't? it's just hard for anyone, i guess.
Sorry Cleric.
either some kinda 'crazy's in the water
or there's a full moon
everywhere I turn things are "off"
Good luck, let us know how it goes with your journey.
I think a positive for you is that you are concerned with the effect misogyny would have on your relationship with your mother. Generally, if your family understands you at all they should be able to realize that any present unkind tendencies are a reaction to your situation and do not reflect on them personally.
If you are particularly concerned about taking this out on mom, perhaps you should make a focused effort to maintianing a positive relationship with her. Plan to do good, positive things with her so help you continue with happy mom-based feelings.
You got jerked over by a chick, but mom is not to blame.
Good luck on your journey.
For example, my ex sucked the life out of me for 20 yhears, then announced he wanted a divorce and that he hadn't loved me for the last 17 of those years (pretty good actor). I gave up my career and my life to join with his, then he left me with no support system, no ability to obtain a job with a living wage and a child to support. I "took care" of everything for him for years, now, after all of that he wants my help!!!!!!
Many times in divorce it may seem as though women get the better deal, but, with the inability to find a viable wage, many middle age and older women suffer because they don't have the experience or job skills to land a full-time $60K job that allows them to live in comfort. We do much work that goes unnoticed and unpaid.
Okay, now for men, my ex thinks all women suck too, he used to downtrod women all the time, but, he also admittedly hated his mother.
I think you have to try to find perspective here, you may believe all women are awful, but, remember, you haven't met ALL women. Give yourself permission to believe, for just a minute, that all women are not alike, that may help. Take baby steps at first, get some women who just want to be friends, you might find your faith restored.
