We have been married for 18 years he was an addict when we got together and i believed he had quit he went to prison in 2008 and i stayed with him till he got out we have 2 children together ,he went to work about 18 months ago for a company that works out of town from time to time he had been coming home about once a month but left in February and has not returned i found out May 31 he has been living with another woman for 4 months and they are engaged also he has admitted to being back on the drugs my children are afraid of him and i just feel sick and betrayed he is acting like he has improved his life by leaving us ,i know we are better off with out the drunken drug addict,it just makes me so angry that he is making his children feel he is to good to be with them when he created all the problems we had as a family he left us in a shack of a house that belonged to his family owned a home that needed remolding so with very little income and two kids as help we did the work and moved in he has blamed me and my children and even the state we live in for his addictions never his own choices ,he has twisted everything around to make it my fault when my children and i know better I stayed with him all these years because he claimed to love his children so much and now he doesn't even want to see them his daughter is devastated his son not so much because he never paid any attention to him any way
The whole time we were together if it didn't include drugs or alcohol he wasn't interested we have never been out to eat as a family to a ball game my kids have never even been to a movie but he is doing all these things with his new family and pretending to be someone he is not he says he is clean and drug free but every pic he has on facebook he looks high and has a beer in his hand his lies were so intense i just feel numb

What I will say to you and me both is that kids are resilient. They will get through this better and easier than we will. Your children will see how much you love them and that you are always there for them. Thats what I tell my children. "No matter what, I love you guys and I will always be here for you". In the end thats all we can do. Oh we also need to realize we deserve much better than a liar and a cheater. I keep believing there are good guys out there. There has to be right.
