Pretty much the discussion I had with my wife a few minutes ago.

I apparently have failed to prove it. And I can't point to any big things I did to prove it, just little gestures every single day.

Oh, wait, there was the time I learned a whole new profession (massage therapy) so I could help her. Worked out incredibly well for me, but I did it because of her. She announced I have to do something that pays better now.

Gotta say - the loving someone more than they love themselves - likely a recipe for heartbreak. I dont buy it, not anymore. If you are with someone who has no love for themselves, than they likely have no self respect - and no self respect leads to all kinds of hell down the road.

Not for me thanks - if/when I ever take the journey again you better believe it will be with someone who is whole and has a strong sense of self worth and self love - than they will be able to love in return without disclaimers.
