Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
it was always him about him, he hid it well.
i'm sorry to be blunt, but i think it helps in this case because you should see clearly what he is
you, you'll hurt for awhile, you'll heal, you'll be who you've always been with some weathering, you'll eventually get back on your feet, so much so that you'll jump for joy again.
I'm responding to your post to say two things:
1. You did NOT give up too easily. As you mentioned the "blatant disrespect" - YES! Whether he was always a liar or not, what he is TODAY is a damn liar and cheat. There's no going back to that, IMO. It's not a one-time drunken mistake, or something like that. So you ARE doing the right thing. You were doing the painful work to try to improve your marriage (giving him space, etc), while he was out screwing around. I know how that feels!
2. You'll get past this and your life WILL get better. I know everyone says that and it's so very hard to believe when you are in the hell of it all. But it will. It sounds like you are doing the right things - doctor, therapist, yes. Work through the pain. I'm almost 2 years out of my divorce and I'm pretty darned happy right now! I'm seeing someone else, a much better person - wonderful woman. I reinvigorated a couple parts of my life that had gone stale, etc. A new life. It's not perfect, but it's so very much better than things were at divorce time. You WILL get there!
Best wishes to you!
