*Gouges eyes out...make the useless info stop*
- brothers playing Jimi Hendrix, Beach Boys, & Beatles records that had just come out
- Revolver, when it first came out
- black & white TV in our family room - no remote (of course); watching LBJ give speeches on Vietnam; watching Laugh-In as a family; watching Johnny Quest on Saturday mornings
- parents taking Polaroid pictures of us
- my dad's Corvair
- my mom's brand-new Chevy Vega, which was the biggest lemon ever, til we got another Chevy Vega
- our Buick Electra 225, the largest production car ever (it seemed); my brothers doing "neutral drops" in it in the driveway - floor it in neutral, and "drop" it into reverse so you peel out; sometimes the tranny would "drop" onto the driveway
- watching Neil Armstrong step onto the moon on a VERY grainy friend's b&w tv
- listening to the Apollo 8 astronauts read Genesis on Christmas Eve
- really believing that Paul was dead
- listening to Abbey Road while opening presents on Christmas Eve
- the white rotary phone in the kitchen with a long cord
- the cool new "slimline" phones from Western Electric
- my banana seat Schwinn Stingray; making dirt jumps in the field across the street in Denver
and that's just the 60s...
