I was angry because just when I started to see a light at the end of the debt tunnel he walked away and we both are in debt.

Well, right now, I'm angry/bitter about the fact that currently stuck in this city, her city, not my city. She, on the other hand, has everything. Her family, her city, her new bf.
I guess I'm angry that she's able to move on, because this is where she wants to be.
I'm angry because I find myself between a rock and a hard place. I coaxed my employer to let me move my job here, so she could be near her family. That was 8 years ago. I can't very well say to work now, I want to move back.
How do I handle my anger? The same way I did it while we were together. By clamming up! It's amazing what odd jobs can be found around the house to get done when one is angry. I would choose to sleep on the couch. When I get angry, rather than confrontation, I would simply get quiet, very quiet.
I don't think you can let people deep inside- it's too dangerous.
Thoughts after 1 beer and 1/4 glass of wine.
