Trying to take in all the heat they was giving
The night is dark but the sidewalk's bright
And lined with the light of the living
From a tenement window a transistor blasts
Turn around the corner things got real quiet real fast
I walked into a Tenth Avenue freeze-out
Tenth Avenue freeze-out
And I'm all alone, I'm all alone
And kid you better get the picture
And I'm on my own, I'm on my own
And I can't go home
Feel so mesmerized all that inside me.
The sunshine bores the daylights out of me.
Chasing shadows moonlight mystery.
Headed for the overload,
Splattered on the dirty road,
Kick me like you've kicked before,
I can't even feel the pain no more.
But I only get my rocks off while I'm dreaming,
I only get my rocks off while I'm sleeping.
I used to think the older someone got the more they would learn to appreciate things and mature. My ex was about 8 years older then me and I have realized that no matter how old someone is, they can have commitment issues, act childish and selfish. Being realistic is a great place to be I think the worst thing we can do is be in denial or live in fake bubble acting like everything will be just fine without ever seeing any signs to back that fact up. I am glad you are doing better
Similar to you TM1070 and others, I too met a man with nothing, in debt, he was living with his parents and driving his father's car. I encouraged him to go back to school, supported him with everything and helped in toward the path of home ownership. In the end, he got most of it and he even asked for all the wedding gifts we got (which I gave to him) but I NEVER gave back the wedding rings and I'm in the process of selling them.
The truth is, he has it all and no-one to share it with and that is not fun for him. Never stoop to someone else's level. Life is not about materialistic things it's about the person we have become. Leave him be, in the end he will sow what he reaps.
