Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
I would not get into any conversations with your husband because they obviously will not be productive and instead be either hurtful or very frustrating to you. If he calls and curses, uses foul language, accuses you of things, treats you poorly, THEN HANG UP IMMEDIATELY. First rule for you is that you will not let him treat you that way. If he starts the same when you are in a room with him, put up your hand like a stop sign and then loudly say STOP, and then walk away to non-hearing range. Again, you refuse to listen to his verbal abuse of you.
Continue to gather all the info, plus make a list of any violence, any verbal or emotional abuse he has done to you (and cursing and using foul language, accusing you of things, telling you that you are no good, you are worthless, etc. is all verbal abuse). Any time you have had to call 911 on him or gotten help from another because of abuse from your husband, write it all down on the list.
You want to think about any inheritance(s) he may have gotten while you were married, you want to think about any sources of money he has.
