Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
Breathe. You'll get through this. One step at a time.
I think a loving, understanding and supportive partner would understand that sometimes life throws shit at us that requires our full attention, time and focus, such as helping parents or other family members during a time of crisis.
But, if that pulls you away from the relationship, you need to set boundaries and enforce them.
The time to "make changes" is when a partner first brings up concerns regarding the relationship. If the issues are addressed at that time, conversations had, compromised made, things can be resolved before "it's too late".
It sounds to me like "be strong for me, don't cry because I don't want to feel guilty about breaking up and hurting you."
Yes, exactly. That struck me as odd and I hope the original poster can elaborate more on that. Sounds like - "Okay, I'm dumping you today, after 10 years, good luck with your Mom's stroke and all that.... oh and also, I NEED you to be strong... for ME"
???? Ugh. Please elaborate winter10. We'd like to know what that means.
