I always gave mine a receipt when he paid cash - it covered my butt too if I needed...

My brother gave his ex money orders in the beginning of their divorce proceedings.. and even with that she went to child support people and claimed he gave her nothing ... now he has the money direct deposited to the child support people and guess what now she claims he is drinking the money..even though it comes directly from maintenance enforcement... so I agree a receipt is a good idea... that way both parties don't get confused...

I agree he should pay the full amount the first of the month... not sure his reasons why a partial payment and late...

In Canada maintenance enforcement pays on time even if the parent does not and they collect from them ... so the kids are taken care of... not sure if this is something that takes effect for you after divorce is final???

Maintenance enforcement is very strict here... you can lose your license, garnishee on wages.. etc... at first he did the money order thing but then figured giving his money directly to maintenance enforcement would work better.. that way they know he paid...even if she didn't get paid from my brother, maintenance enforcement would pay her and collect from him...

Ok all. I gave him a receipt and made one for myself, too. We both signed them.

I do think a receipt is a good idea, its just that, when he asked, I had a hard time not laughing in his face! It was just odd.


And I got $300.00. I also agree, something is better than nothing. Im not complaining, I just thought it was funny. This man who needs a receipt because he cant trust me!

He is self employed, so they cant garnish his wages. He doesnt get a check AND...he hasnt filed taxes since 2001! So, he cant prove anything and doesnt want them to know anything!

A cash payment sounds like he is hiding money from someone maybe the IRS? Any self employeed person can get cash and not claim it.

Give him a receipt with a big huge lipstick print on it...that'll piss off the gf.
