Yup, today is what, the 5th of the month? He told me I would get a check from him (child support) yesterday, post dated. Now today he tells me he can give me some, SOME cash, and he wants a receipt! He wants a receipt! Im laughing my ass off here!
I record everything anyway, so, no big deal. But what does he think is going to happen without the receipt?
Just too funny and I wanted to share.

What, he wants to make sure you don't screw him? Like he's screwing you by not giving you the right amount of money, on the right day?

Tell him you'll give him the receipt when he gives you ALL the money he's supposed to. Not some.

Right njmel! Am I going to screw him? And what, tell on him to my lawyer that he didnt pay me the full amount on the right date? I think this receipt would screw him more than I could!
And Z, a receipt is a good idea, but what mel and Jules said is whats funny about it.

What's the big deal. I think it's a great idea. Cash is changing hands a receipt is an aknowledgement of that transaction. I think it is a very prudent thing to document it. It does not make him an ass. Other things might but not what you describe.

Bernie - it just seems like that person doesn't trust you. That they think you will accuse them of not paying. After sharing a life, a marriage, it just seems plain rude.

And Bernie, him paying partial payment and a receipt to show that could only hurt him. I think a receipt is a good idea too, but in this case, I think not!

When your going through a divorce it is naive not to document everything. People forget, people get angry. He is protecting his interest. It's not about being rude.
