Feeling Helpless

I received some not so great news today....

The other half of my heart has been deployed to the Middle East for a year now. I received notification this evening that he has been injured. He is OK, nothing too major, but my heart has completely sunk today.

I feel so helpless. I cant reach him. I cant call. I cant be there with him and he is half a world away.

:(

Feeling so out of sorts.

Top this off with this is the SECOND time I have received one of those phones calls in this lifetime....and its definitely brought up some things from the past.

My heart is breaking right now.

Oh that stinks. How frustrating and anxiety producing for you not to be able to be there with him. I'm sorry, but thank God its not serious. I hope you can speak to him soon!

Im trying so hard right now to hold this all together.

He has a bad head injury.

But hes going to be ok. and Im SO grateful for that.

This hurts.. a lot.

Oh God. I'm so sorry. Do you know if you'll be able to talk to him soon??? I don't know how you ladies do this deployment thing. I doubt i'd be strong enough. My heart goes out to you. I'd be climbing the walls.

Thank you so much everyone. They said he will call as soon as he can. Hes been gone for a year now...just a few weeks away from his homecoming. its been a tough year.... Im so ready for this to end. Watching him leave was the most difficult thing I have EVER had to do, and now this :(

Ok, so this totally sucks, but he *is* going to be OK and coming home soon. That's. Something to at least be grateful for and then he's all yours :-)

I am grateful....very, very grateful and hope Im not sounding like a whiny little girl.

I lost a good friend over there in October :( and this is the 2nd one of these phone calls.

Thank God he is alright and this is the last time I have to do this deployment thing ..ever again. Im so ready for it to end.

You don't sound whiny at all. Its got to drive you crazy. Very stressful. Id just try to comfort myself with the thought of him coming home. Then you can put him on bed rest for awhile :-0
