I love bacon and eggs....
Long live the SOUTH!
Makin my mouth water!
Oh, but my grits have to have butter in 'em!
I am guessing that s what grits are? I found other definitions but am guessing that fits best.
never had eggs IN them. on the same plate, yes, but not in.
One of my favorite breakfast restaurants makes grits with REALLY finely chopped tomato, crumbled applewood smoked bacon bits mixed with a touch of mascarpone cheese for creaminess. It's SO rich, but OMG SO good.
(Polenta is a fancy Italian word for grits, you know!)
Jenna's version of grits could be considered polenta if the grits aren't runny. Polenta to me is consolidated with all sorts of good stuff added to make it taste yummy.
Grits is something you eat with pigs brains and gravy. It was on a menu the last time I was in Kentucky. How appetizing.
I must confess I have never had good grits prepared the right way. Usually at a truck stop or greasy spoon while driving through the southern US. I'm sure it's great comfort food.
