Yes! After reading the replies, it doesn't sound like it's too uncommon. He decided back in February that he wanted to go through with the divorce and a week after signing the papers he was already in a serious relationship! I didn't start having dreams till about a month ago. In one dream we were going shopping and his girlfriend was there, and I was like "oh is that her?" Maybe it's just a way of our brain processing the pain of the situation.

Another dream...UGGHHH I'm not reading this post anymore. Lol

Dream...He had married someone else and was getting a divorce ( all in a matter of a few months) She was now entitled to half of assets as well. Then I woke up and realized....what a minute he can't remarry until our divorce is final. Lol

I guess I am stressed about the finances. He is holding on to everything and drained the bank accounts. He is stalling to move forward and hoping I will walk off. I am moving in a month to another state so he thinks I will just go away.

I definitely have this problem. I wake up with my heart racing and my arm outstretched over the empty side of the bed. It's so unfair. I wish we could control our dreams. It's day 32 and its only getting harder. Between being anxious over the dreams and hoping he'll come home, its a guarantee that I won't get any rest. Good luck friend.

I've dreamed of him once and in the dream I was beating the crap out of him with a bat. I don't remember why I was beating him but it matters not one bit. I kind of enjoyed that dream.

Just awoke from another!
He wanted to discuss some things and then claimed I had cheated and he knew. I was furious! I never had and there was no reasoning with him.
now I've woken up annoyed!!

Since our break up in July, I've only had dreams (being loved, held) by a guy I have a crush on and by my best friend (who died in 2002). I find it weird even though I want comfort or just being held, my dreams don't envolve my ex.

I would much rather dream about anyone else right now than my ex. After yesterday, I don't predict they will end anytime soon. It's really disheartening she has become pure evil.

I have similar dreams. They all have the same theme. Abandonment.
Which is not strange since I feel well and truly abandoned.
It's strange the power he has over me even in my dreams.
But this is a very fresh divorce, maybe in time they will stop.

I had a dream about my ex (we've been apart for a year and a half now) last night. We were at my family farm, and he was walking about 50 feet in front of me. I kept yelling his name, but he would never turn around and acknowledge me. Then I was all of a sudden in someone's house, looking at some girl I'd never seen before (but in my dream, it was his girlfriend. I do know he's dating someone now, but I've never met her or seen a picture of her). She was polite and we said hello.

I think the weirdest things about these types of dreams is the way you FEEL in the dream. For me, I felt so angry and hurt that I spent 7 years of my life with someone, but now that we aren't together, he wouldn't give me the time of day. I woke up with that feeling too. I spent so many years with this person, and while I don't have romantic feelings for him anymore, I still feel loyalty to him, and I miss him occasionally. I don't think it's wise to maintain a friendship, but he hasn't spoken a single word to me since the day we broke up, and for whatever reason, that still bothers me sometimes.

Yes, It was worst during the first few weeks. Then fast forward to year or so, once or twice every few months. It started as sweet, I think I was still in denial stage at that time...then gradually became horrible.lol...so i've essentially went through the breakup twice: in reality and in dreams....glad I'm past all that now.
