Well, knowing your love of sailing I think it would be perfect for you. And I don't think others would think it was weird, actually it would be a great conversation starter. Particularly with the ladies.

Heave- I have a tatoo already, and thinking about getting another, when I can afford to do so. I am too damn old to care about what people think at this point. Pretty much always was. I would do it. For what it is worth, I like the flag as it is, I would not put tears, holes or freyed ends in it. That flag belongs to you and your boat, your boat is your happy place.(as far as I know), I get what you are saying, but that is just my opinion. You have to do what is the best for you, b/c once you get it, it is with you forever.

The holes and tears are a battle flag. The flag I am flying hasn't been on the boat long enough to get any character. It will if it doesn't fade too much first. I have another flag that I flew off of my other boat and it has freyed ends and it looks cool. I will hang that up and a few other pirate flags in my new house when I move in.

I want the torn and freyed look to reflect on the way my life has been. I have been through a lot of battles and I have my battle scars. The flag will show the same. I might just have thend frayed some

if it's flat, it's not necessarily a flagon your arm. like the idea of tears and fraying too. maybe part of the line/pole. have an artist sketch it first.

do it. i have at least 20, not sure and don't want to take the time to count. but i say go for it. be warned it's like potato chips, one will not be enough, i have to get 2 covered, ex and i have matching ones and i have a symbol that represents her. i am thinking flaming skull and lizards. i digress.

I plan on getting my kids' birth signs on my right shoulder. I have always wanted a tat and I have a pretty high threshold for pain so I think I may get addicted to it. LOL
