Because of my lifestyle I wanted something nauticle for a tattoo. Not sure what excactly I will get, if I get it, but I have noticed that a lot of people have started getting tattoos.

The design in your flag is very cool. There are many talented tatoo artists out there who would put their extra flair on it if you want. I have a very cool one on my ankle of a killer whale jumping out of the ocean. Have never regretted it.

Yeah you're right on that Momo. I was just thinking about that today on my way back from getting groceries. Most of the first tattoos I got weren't really visible. Of course the Army had a policy at the time (not sure about now) about tats not being visible in class A's, but I was also concerned about presenting a "respectable" appearance. Now I'm a lot less concerned about what other people think and find myself wanting to get some on my neck and hands so they are actually more visible.

Got 3 ... all about 8 years apart. Make sure it's something you are gonna want for the rest of your life first! "First Rule - no names, except "maybe your kids" ... Don't let anyone lie to you, they DO hurt like a bitch! Only while you are getting them though ... Don't drink first! It intereferes with the clotting and MAY make the ink run a little. ALSO, don't let anyone "smack it" saying "it will help the ink set" either, lol. Best of luck! (BTW shoulders are good for guys, less pain because more "meat" ... chests are good(less pain) for women. Lower back is horrendously painful for guys, but not bad at all for women...

I don't have any. My father has a few, he got a couple after his 2nd divorce and actually tried to talk me into getting one too.

Personally it's not the pain that bothers me, it's a matter of whether or not I really want something permanently inked onto my body that will be unrecognizable when I get older, plus I have no idea what I'd want anyway.

Nice tattoo there HeaveToo. I seriously had considered getting a Maxwell's equations tat on my bicep some years ago.

I am enthralled by tattoos, when tastefull and not overdone. I have always, seriously, flirted with the thought of getting one, but never have. Being an illustrator and an artist is has other draws as well.

Really, quite honestly, it's not me, or who I am. It doesn't suit me, nor does it fit who I am as a person to have one. I guess it's kind of hard to explain.

Does this mean I will NEVER get one, no. (In fact there is at least ONE that is a fairly important one that I may get eventually) Does it mean I'm pretty apprehensive, yes. I can, however, appreciate them and continue to be enthralled by them.

i have one descretely placed tatoo on my hip - i waited till i was 38 to get it hahaha my kids will have to wait that long too - my tat is quite personal and about my background - its basically a cdn maple leaf with some initials in it - long story as to why i had it done - if you want to know more just msg me but i am thinking of getting another one - lol a black sheep ..... pmsl it is a personal choice but remember it is for life .... cheers c
