Do you still believe in fairytale endings?

Hi All, a few weeks ago I posted about finding that 'what if' person. Thank you all for your comments and support. I had my reunion with him, and it was fantastic, and I mean sweep me off my feet fantastic.

However, as I drove away...I started to think....

Is it really possible to have the fairytale? Is there really such a thing as a happy ending?

I mean after my separation, I have been so jaded by love - everything I once thought was love, changed for me in the blink of an eye. And, now, I don't know if I have faith in love. Sad, but true.

Are there any optimists left out there who can help? I know we are all probably very down on love and the possibility of love - but can any of you out there see yourself being able to open up and love completely again?

Whats a fairy tale ending, you both ride off into the sunset and live happily ever after. I look at it more as old school, you get married you have kids, you grow old and you die. Thats the way most of us thought it was going to go. It didn't work out that way but it could with the right person. A fairy tale who wants that, it never happens but you can still have a decent life sans ex.

I would love to believe in happy endings. I want nothing more than to have my happpy ending but I try not to think that far ahead. I just want INNER PEACE right now.

BamBam it may be that you have had your happy ending as far as this relationship is concerned. Maybe it's meant to stay in the box that it's in, and then will therefore stay perfect. Just a thought.

think the ending is what we make it we control that ending it is in our hands i have found a man that loves me for me and well i have too many times almost messed it up not him me because of my rawr emotions left from the wreckage of my marriage ....

Of course there is that so called fairy tale ending. Allow yourself to heal and just don't force it or allow anyone to force it on you.

Besides, I would rather be alone and find happiness that way, as opposed to being with somebody I have to constantly try to please. Been there, done that.

Funnily enough, for the last 5 years I was with my STBX I, in retrospect, I knew that it was not the fairy tale "happily ever after". I believe there is a person for everyone (yes even the STBX) and I truly believe that I will end my days walking arm in arm with a special someone who will treasure the love we share for eachother.

tomorrow is my 2 year anniversary of being on my own, 2/21/06 was my first night being considered an outsider to my 'own home'.

Last May I met someone I knew 14-16 years earlier. There's either a screen play in the making, or a real future, or both; I'll find out after I can say I have my decree.

Can't answer if it Will happen, but I can say I could surely do it, I've met an exception to everything I swore never again for 14 months.

Though, some days I do ponder if I REALLY want that. So it's not without some doubt. No clue what she's thinking though.

For today is my fairy tale ending, and hoping that it will continue tomorrow, and each day after, and thats about all I can really hope to have, and the inner peace that I tried my very best.

Do I believe in fairytales? No. Love is work; it can never be taken for granted and I think it is in our society. Yet, love is the greatest reward in this world. I have experienced it and I know I'm capable of giving a lot of it. Time only will tell if I'll find someone special to share it with. I worry more about the baggage in my life and how it will be perceived by a potential mate.
